Volunteering

Thank you for your generous interest in sharing your time and talent with us. We love having the help of parents, guardians and relatives in and around our center. One of our core educational philosophies is to involve the entire family in the rearing of good students for life, and volunteering is a great way to achieve this goal.

Because St. Pius X Children’s Center is owned and operated by the Catholic parish of St. Pius X Church and School, our volunteers must comply with the overall Safe Environment Compliance Policy as dictated by the Diocese of Columbus. The purpose of this policy is to assure the safety of all children in our care under age 18.

All adults who work with children age 17 and under, including staff, faculty and volunteers, must meet these standards, which include:

  • Completing and passing an Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) record check with fingerprinting; and
  • Attending a Diocese of Columbus Protecting God’s Children workshop.

Once these two requirements are met, and your paperwork received by our parish office, you may begin to volunteer. Thank you for understanding that our first priority is to keep all of our children safe!

You can learn more about how to complete these requirements from our parish website at:  Protecting God’s Children.
